The Persol story is intertwined with the exclusive MEFLECTO patent, the invention that in 1938 made possible flexible acetate temple arms. Meflecto lets the frame mould itself to the shape of the wearer’s face, and even today is an unrivalled technological solution for comfort and stability of fit. The Meflecto system involves inserting two to four small cylinders into the acetate arm to give it flexibility, a craft manufacturing process exclusive to Persol. The collection includes several models with Meflecto GTO. Using metal cylinders instead of nylon, the system lends the arms an additional aesthetic motif, as well as all the traditional performance of the Meflecto system. INNOVATION IN PERSOL LENSES
Lenses for the new models have evolved even further. Persol has enhanced the quality and performance of its sun collection by fitting the models for the first time with a polarised, super-lightweight, extra-thin lens. The new 1.8 mm lens features maximum performance and protection and an extremely lightweight design, making it an outstanding choice for frequent everyday use. Persol also has a new photochromatic lens. Innovative technology enables the colour of the lens to be changed permanently while maintaining its photochromatic properties.
